Picea omorika, the Serbian spruce, has a slim, graceful outline with dark green needles, so it fits a narrow spot or a small room. This is a pack of 2 living trees, each about 70cm tall in a 23cm pot. They are hardy conifers that belong outdoors, so think of them as porch, doorstep or table trees that visit the house briefly.
- Slender, narrow habit with dark green needles
- Hardy and happy in a pot for a few years
- Becomes a tall tree if planted out in a garden, so give it space
- Pack of 2 trees, each about 70cm tall in a 23cm pot
- Supplied in plain growing pots, so you can dress them in your own pot covers.
- Full sun to partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil once planted out
Keep them outside as long as you can, with LED lights and light ornaments. If you bring one in, limit the stay to about 10-12 days in the coolest, brightest spot, away from radiators, fires and stoves. Water when the top of the compost starts to dry and never leave the pot standing in water. Warm, dry indoor air weakens spruce and encourages spider mites, which is another reason to keep the indoor stay short. Afterwards, harden it off in an unheated porch or shed for a few days, then return it to a sheltered outdoor spot or plant it out. Pots dry out faster than the ground, so check them regularly.
Supplied as living plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
