Helleborus niger 'Christmas Carol' is the classic Christmas rose, with white winter flowers over evergreen foliage. A pack of six gives enough plants to build a good drift under trees or along a shady border.
- Flowers: white, opening in winter
- Foliage: evergreen, dark and leathery
- Supplied as 6 plants, each in a 10.5cm pot, around 25cm tall
- Light: partial shade to shade
- Use: borders, woodland planting and pots
- Low maintenance once established, and a useful early nectar source for bees
Plant in moist, well-drained soil improved with compost, keeping the crown at soil level and spacing plants about 30cm apart. Once planted, hellebores like to be left alone, so choose the position carefully. Water during dry spells in the first year and trim worn older leaves in late winter so the flowers are clearly visible.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
