Helleborus niger 'Christmas Carol' is the classic Christmas rose, producing clean white flowers in winter above evergreen leaves. A pack of four makes a generous drift for a shady border or a group of containers.
- Flowers: white, opening in winter
- Foliage: evergreen, dark and leathery
- Supplied as 4 plants, each in a 10.5cm pot, around 25cm tall
- Light: partial shade to shade
- Use: borders, woodland planting and pots
- Provides early nectar for bees on mild days
Plant in moist, well-drained soil improved with compost, keeping the crown at soil level and spacing plants about 30cm apart. Hellebores dislike disturbance once settled, so choose the spot carefully. Water during dry spells in the first year and remove tired older leaves in late winter to show off the new flowers.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
