Eucalyptus gunnii, the cider gum, is a fast-growing evergreen with rounded, blue-green young leaves that smell fresh and aromatic when crushed. It is popular for adding silvery foliage to borders and large containers, and the stems are often cut for indoor arrangements.
- Blue-green evergreen foliage, aromatic when crushed
- Pack of 4 plants in 17cm pots, around 40cm tall
- Does well in full sun in free-draining soil
- Suits borders and large containers
- Can grow into a large tree if left alone, or be cut back hard each spring to keep it shrubby
Choose a sheltered position and give young plants some winter protection, such as a fleece wrap or a spot against a warm wall, until they are established. Plant in well-drained soil, stake taller plants in exposed gardens and water regularly through the first summer.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
