Ilex crenata 'Stokes' is a compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub with small, glossy, dark green leaves. Its dense, tidy habit makes it a popular alternative to box for low formal hedges, edging and containers.
- Foliage: small, oval, glossy dark green leaves, evergreen
- Dense, mounding habit that clips into neat shapes
- Supplied as 40 plants in 9cm pots, 20-30cm tall
- Full sun or partial shade
- Suits low hedging, edging and containers
Plant in moist, well-drained soil and water regularly through the first summer. Space about 25cm apart for a low hedge. Trim lightly once or twice in the growing season to keep the shape. A mulch of compost or bark helps keep the roots evenly damp.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
