Ilex crenata 'Golden Gem' is a compact evergreen shrub with small, glossy leaves in golden-yellow tones. It clips well, making it useful for low hedges, edging and topiary.
- Small, glossy golden-yellow evergreen leaves
- Dense, compact habit that responds well to clipping
- Foliage colour is strongest in good light
- Pack of 40 plants in 9cm pots, 20-30cm tall as supplied
- Hardy in Irish gardens, grown in sun or light shade
Plant in well-drained, moisture-retentive soil and water through the first summer. Position in full sun for the brightest colour, though light shade is tolerated. Clip lightly in late spring or summer to build a dense, even line.
