Stipa tenuissima 'Ponytails' is a fine-leaved feather grass forming soft, silky tufts that sway in the slightest breeze. It adds lightness and movement to borders, gravel gardens and containers.
- Very fine, thread-like green leaves
- Silky, feathery flower plumes in golden-green tones from summer
- Pack of 24 young plants in 11cm pots, 15-25cm tall as supplied
- Soft, fountain-like habit
- Prefers full sun and free-draining soil
- Good for gravel gardens, borders and pots
Plant in a sunny spot in free-draining soil; it dislikes heavy, wet ground in winter. Comb out dead leaves with your fingers in spring rather than cutting back hard. It can self-seed freely in suitable conditions, so remove unwanted seedlings. It pairs nicely with geraniums and echinacea.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
