Persicaria amplexicaulis, known as bistort, is a clump-forming perennial with slender red flower spikes held above heart-shaped leaves from summer. This pack of 24 plants in 11cm pots will build into good-sized clumps in borders and larger beds.
- Flowers: red spikes from summer into autumn
- Foliage: pointed, heart-shaped green leaves
- Supplied as: 24 plants, 15-25cm tall, in 11cm pots
- Light: full sun to partial shade
- Use: borders, naturalistic planting and cut flowers
Plant in fertile soil that does not dry out and water well while it establishes. It grows much taller than the young plants supplied, so site it towards the middle or back of a border. Cut stems back to the base in late winter.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
