Pyrus communis 'Conference' is a well-known pear variety grown for its long, sweet, juicy fruit. This is a fruit tree supplied about 90cm tall in a 21cm pot, ready to plant in a garden border or to grow on in a large container on a patio.
- Blossom: white spring flowers, followed by long green-skinned pears in late summer to autumn
- Foliage: glossy green leaves that turn in autumn
- Size: supplied as 1 tree, about 90cm tall, in a 21cm pot
- Position: a sunny, sheltered spot suits fruiting best
- Use: garden borders, or a large container on a terrace
Plant in autumn or early spring in well-drained soil, staking the tree firmly and keeping the area around the base free of grass while it establishes. Water through dry spells in the first years. Pears crop more reliably with a second pear variety flowering nearby for cross-pollination.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
