48x Symphoricarpos 'Hancock' Snowberry - Hardy Ground Cover 10-25cm

Symphoricarpos chenaultii 'Hancock' - Hardy Snowberry Ground Cover (48 Pack)

Symphoricarpos chenaultii 'Hancock' is a hardy, low-spreading deciduous shrub that delivers exceptional visual interest across multiple seasons. This compact variety reaches 10-25cm in height and features small, ovate blue-green leaves that remain attractive from spring through frost.

Seasonal Features

In late summer, 'Hancock' produces small, bell-shaped white flowers that attract pollinators including bees and butterflies. These blooms develop into striking white berries speckled with rosy red that persist well into winter, providing outstanding winter interest when most other plants have finished their display. The dense clusters of berries create exceptional visual appeal and attract birds during winter months.

Growth Habit and Uses

This low-growing snowberry variety features arching, rooting branches that spread effectively, making it an excellent ground cover solution. The spreading habit naturally suppresses weeds and provides erosion control on slopes and embankments. 'Hancock' works beautifully in mixed shrub borders, as edging for pathways, planted under trees, or massed for quick coverage of difficult areas.

Growing Conditions

Thrives in both full sun and partial shade, adapting to various light conditions. This weather-resistant shrub tolerates a wide range of soil types and is remarkably hardy once established. The compact size (typically 1-2 feet tall with a 4-6 foot spread) makes it ideal for smaller gardens while the 48-pack quantity is perfect for larger landscaping projects, hedging, or filling extensive ground cover areas.

Care and Maintenance

Low-maintenance and undemanding, 'Hancock' requires minimal care once established. Prune in early spring before new growth emerges to maintain shape and encourage berry production, as flowering occurs on new wood. Deer resistant and drought tolerant after establishment.
