40x Euonymus japonicus 'White Spire' Japanese Spindle - Evergreen Hedging - 9cm Pot - 20-30cm

Euonymus japonicus 'White Spire' carries dark green leaves with crisp white margins on an upright, fast-thickening frame. It is the quicker of the two variegated Japanese spindles, which makes it the one to choose when you want a screen rather than a slow ornamental hedge.

Why it works in cooler northern European gardens

• Fast to fill — noticeably quicker than most evergreen hedging, so you get a dense line sooner.
• Upright habit — it grows narrow, which suits a boundary where you cannot give up much width.
• Not a box — it is not susceptible to box blight, and in Europe the box tree moth has so far only been recorded on Buxus, which is why it is chosen as a box alternative.
• Sun or shade — the variegation holds in both.
• Year-round structure — the flowers are insignificant; the foliage is the point, and it is there every month.
