Echinacea purpurea 'White Swan' - Pure White Coneflower (40 Plant Bulk Pack)
Echinacea purpurea 'White Swan' produces large, pure white flowers with distinctive bronze-orange central cones from summer through fall. This white coneflower variety grows 10-25cm at delivery in 9cm growing pots, reaching mature heights of 60-90cm in your garden.
Key Features
- Large white flowers with bronze-orange cones measuring 7-10cm across
- Long blooming period from early summer to fall
- Drought-tolerant once established with deep taproots
- Disease-resistant and low-maintenance perennial
- Attracts butterflies, bees, and beneficial pollinators
- Provides winter seed heads for goldfinches and songbirds
Growing Conditions
Thrives in full sun (6+ hours daily) and well-drained soil. Tolerates heat, humidity, and poor soil conditions once established. Hardy in zones 3-8. Prefers sandy, well-drained loam with pH 6.0-7.0. Water regularly during the first season to establish strong root systems.
Garden Uses
Perfect for perennial borders, wildflower gardens, prairie plantings, and cottage gardens. Works well in mass plantings or mixed with other summer perennials. Makes excellent cut flowers with sturdy stems. Combines beautifully with purple coneflowers, ornamental grasses, and other perennials.
Care Instructions
Deadheading encourages continuous blooming, though not required. Leave seed heads intact in fall to provide food for birds and winter interest. Cut back foliage in early spring before new growth emerges. Minimal fertilization needed - over-fertilizing causes weak, leggy growth.
