Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow' Ground Cover Plants
This pack of 24 Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow' plants provides excellent ground coverage for shaded areas in your garden. Each plant arrives in a 9cm growing pot, standing 10-25cm tall and ready to establish quickly in your garden beds or borders.
Plant Characteristics
Ajuga reptans, commonly known as Creeping Bugleweed, is a low-growing perennial ground cover that spreads efficiently to fill garden spaces. The 'Burgundy Glow' variety features distinctive leathery leaves with variegated burgundy, cream, and green coloring that provides year-round visual interest. During May and June, the plants produce spikes of blue flowers that attract pollinators, particularly bees, to your garden.
Growing Conditions
These plants thrive in partial shade to full shade conditions, making them ideal for areas where other plants struggle. Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow' tolerates nearly all soil types, adapting to various garden conditions. This adaptability makes it a reliable choice for difficult spots in your landscape.
Practical Benefits
The fast-spreading nature of Ajuga makes it highly effective for weed suppression, reducing maintenance requirements in planted areas. The dense mat of foliage also helps prevent soil erosion on slopes and banks. Once established, this ground cover requires minimal care while providing consistent coverage throughout the seasons.
Bulk Planting Pack
With 24 plants included, this pack covers approximately 2-3 square meters when planted at recommended spacing. This quantity is ideal for filling larger garden areas, creating borders along pathways, or establishing ground cover beneath trees and shrubs where grass struggles to grow.
