Helleborus orientalis, also known as Lenten rose, is an evergreen perennial with glossy dark green foliage and large, often strikingly colored flowers in shades of white, pink, purple, and red. This charming plant is ideal for shady borders, under shrubs, or in winter and early spring beds, providing structure and early bloom. Helleborus orientalis prefers humus-rich, well-drained soil and a partially shaded to shaded position. The plant is low-maintenance, fully hardy, and adds elegance to the garden from late winter to early spring.
