Ceratostigma Plumbaginoides - Hardy Blue Ground Cover Plants

Ceratosigma plumbaginoides, also known as Leadwort or Plumbago, is a low-growing perennial ground cover that produces striking blue flowers from late summer through fall. This bulk pack of 60 plants provides excellent coverage for larger garden projects, borders, and landscaping applications.

Plant Specifications

Each plant is supplied at a height of 10-25cm in Ø9cm growing pots, ready for immediate planting. These vigorous specimens are grown naturally by our partner growers and shipped directly to ensure maximum freshness and vitality.

Growth Habit and Appearance

This deciduous ground cover forms dense mats of glossy, green foliage that turns attractive bronze-red tones in autumn. The vibrant gentian-blue flowers appear in clusters from August through October, providing color when many other plants have finished blooming. The spreading habit makes it ideal for filling gaps between larger plants or covering difficult areas.

Planting and Care Requirements

Ceratostigma plumbaginoides thrives in both full sun and partial shade conditions, making it versatile for various garden locations. It prefers well-drained soil and establishes quickly once planted. This hardy perennial is low-maintenance and requires minimal intervention once established in your garden.

Garden Applications

Perfect for rock gardens, border fronts, pathway edges, and slope stabilization. The butterfly-attracting flowers bring additional wildlife interest to your outdoor space. Use these plants to create natural drifts of color or as an attractive alternative to traditional lawn areas. The 60-plant bulk quantity is ideal for covering approximately 3-4 square meters, depending on spacing.
