Luzula sylvatica, also known as greater wood-rush, is a robust, evergreen, grass-like perennial with broad, glossy, dark green foliage. This plant is excellent for shady beds, under trees and shrubs, and for naturalistic gardens, where it provides structure and calm throughout the year. Luzula sylvatica thrives in partial to full shade, is easy to care for, and very winter-hardy. Thanks to its dense growth, it is an excellent groundcover for difficult, shady garden areas.
