Galium odoratum, commonly known as sweet woodruff, is a charming, low-growing perennial with fresh green foliage and small, star-shaped white flowers. This ground cover is ideal for shady borders, woodland gardens, and planting beneath trees and shrubs, where it quickly forms a dense carpet. Galium odoratum prefers a partially shaded to shaded position and humus-rich, slightly moist soil. The plant is low-maintenance and releases a pleasant fragrance during flowering and when the leaves are crushed.
