Bergenia cordifolia 'Herbstblüte' - Hardy Autumn-Flowering Ground Cover
Bergenia cordifolia 'Herbstblüte' is a robust evergreen perennial that brings late-season color to shaded garden areas. This hardy ground cover produces stunning pink flowers in late autumn when most other plants have finished blooming, making it a valuable addition for extending seasonal interest.
Plant Specifications
This bulk pack contains 48 individual plants, each supplied in a 9cm growing pot. Plants measure 10-25cm in height at time of delivery, establishing quickly once planted in garden beds or borders.
Key Features
The large, heart-shaped leaves provide year-round texture and visual interest, forming dense mats that suppress weeds naturally. As an evergreen species, the foliage persists through winter, often developing attractive bronze-red tones in colder months. The pink flower clusters emerge on sturdy stems above the foliage, creating a striking display during autumn.
Growing Conditions
Bergenia cordifolia 'Herbstblüte' thrives in shaded spots where many other flowering plants struggle. This low-maintenance perennial tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and requires minimal care once established. The hardy nature of this cultivar makes it suitable for various garden situations, from woodland edges to shaded borders.
Garden Applications
Ideal for mass planting as ground cover, this Bergenia works well in shaded beds, under trees, or along north-facing borders. The 48-plant pack provides excellent coverage for larger areas or multiple garden zones. Plant spacing of 30-40cm allows plants to fill in and create continuous coverage within one to two growing seasons.
