Liriope muscari 'Moneymaker' is an evergreen perennial groundcover with dark green, grass-like foliage and striking purple flower spikes in late summer. This hardy lilyturf variety thrives in both full sun and shade, making it a versatile choice for borders, edging, and mass plantings throughout your garden.
Key Features
- Evergreen foliage provides year-round interest
- Purple flower spikes appear in late summer
- Grows 10-25cm in height with clumping growth habit
- Supplied in 9cm growing pots
- 24-plant bulk pack for efficient garden coverage
Growing Conditions
This low-maintenance monkey grass adapts to various light conditions from full sun to full shade. 'Moneymaker' tolerates different soil types and becomes drought-tolerant once established. Space plants 20-30cm apart for dense border coverage or mass plantings. The clumping variety stays tidy without spreading aggressively.
Uses in the Landscape
Ideal as groundcover under trees and shrubs, border edging along walkways and driveways, or foundation plantings. The grass-like texture contrasts beautifully with broader-leaved plants. Deer-resistant and requires minimal maintenance once established - simply trim back old foliage in late winter before new growth emerges.
