60x Cotoneaster 'Queen of Carpets' Ground Cover - 10-25cm, 9cm Pots

Cotoneaster prostratus 'Queen of Carpets' – Dense Ground Cover Plant

This Cotoneaster prostratus 'Queen of Carpets' is a robust ground cover that grows flat to form a dense mat, making it an excellent choice for blanketing garden areas with minimal maintenance. The plant reaches heights of 10-25cm and is supplied in a 9cm diameter growing pot.

Flowering and Ornamental Features

In May, this ground cover produces short white flowers that add seasonal interest to your landscape. Come November, attractive berries develop, providing year-round visual appeal and food sources for wildlife. The prostrate growth habit creates a carpet-like effect that effectively suppresses weeds while adding texture to garden beds, slopes, and borders.

Growing Conditions and Adaptability

This Cotoneaster variety demonstrates exceptional versatility, thriving in all soil types without special amendments. It performs equally well in full sun and shaded locations, making it suitable for challenging garden spots where other plants struggle. This adaptability makes it an ideal solution for difficult areas including slopes, banks, and under trees.

Maintenance and Pruning

For optimal growth and health, prune before the end of February. This timing ensures the plant maintains its dense, mat-forming habit while promoting vigorous growth for the upcoming season. The low-maintenance nature of this ground cover makes it perfect for gardeners seeking attractive landscaping without intensive care requirements.
