Bergenia cordifolia 'Herbstblüte' performs best in partial shade to shaded locations with humus-rich, well-drained soil. This variety tolerates a wide range of soil conditions but prefers moderately moist, slightly acidic to alkaline soil. The plants reach 25-40cm during flowering and spread slowly to form dense ground cover. Plant spacing: 5-7 plants per square meter for optimal coverage.
Seasonal Interest
The glossy, leathery foliage remains evergreen throughout winter, often developing attractive bronze to reddish tones in cold weather.
