Liriope muscari 'Ingwersen' is a clump-forming evergreen perennial with dark green, grass-like foliage and striking purple flower spikes. This hardy lilyturf produces lavender-purple blooms from August to November that resemble grape hyacinth flowers, adding vertical interest above glossy, strap-like leaves. Unlike spreading varieties, 'Ingwersen' maintains a neat clump form without spreading by rhizomes, making it ideal for defined borders and pathway edging.
Growing Conditions
This versatile groundcover tolerates a wide range of conditions including drought, full sun, and deep shade. It performs best in moist, well-drained soil with partial to full shade. Reaches 10-25cm in height and spreads 30-45cm wide. Once established, this hardy perennial requires minimal watering and is resistant to deer and rabbit browsing. Suitable for USDA zones 5-9.
